FIFA 2005 Preview
by 007
EA Sports’ Fifa series is known as the foundation for soccer titles. It seems that every year the game manages to introduce new features and innovations that inspires the gameplay and makes it worth playing. This year EA Sports is doing more of the same, and Xbox owners should have every reason to welcome it into their homes.
If you weren’t aware of it, at this year E3 it was announced that EA would be supported Xbox Live. This announcement brings great joy to online gamers, who will now enjoy some stellar EA titles like Battlefield: Modern Combat, Goldeneye: Rogue Agent, The Sims, and Timesplitters 3. Most importantly EA Sports will be at the frontline of EA’s Xbox Live support. Fifa 2005 will be one of those titles. While online details are hard to press, EA will be making announcements in the near future.
This year’s installment in the Fifa franchise is to give the player more precise control. First touch soccer, the newest innovative feature in the series, will allow players to get complete control of the ball before it first touches your foot. This creates a new window of opportunities for gamers as they can choose to start a give and go with another teammate, immediately pass the ball, or just sprint with the ball and attack the opposition.
EA Sports is doing what it can to create the most exciting and realistic soccer experience possible. Expect the commentary to be broadened and more authentic. Lighting, which has been an issue the past few years, looks to be vastly improved this year. Overall, EA Sports is looking to make the game more authentic than ever. We’ll see how the game unfolds come fall.
